Cultivating Discipleship Missionaries
Toby graduated from Cincinnati Bible College with a degree in Bible and an emphasis on missions. Amy is a registered nurse. They served for 17 years in the jungle above San Pedro Sula, Honduras. Toby and Amy have been in the Dominican Republic since January 2016. Toby has been teaching up to 9 ministers and their congregations the Bible in depth. Amy has homeschooled their children for 20 years. They will return to the Dominican Republic in August of 2024 as empty nesters. Amy will be able to join the ministry full time, working with the women and children in the church, teaching health classes in the local schools, and assisting in a clinic.

What is Cultivating Disicpleship & My Role

“The one indispensable requirement for producing godly, mature Christians is godly, mature Christians.”Kevin DeYoung
The purpose of Cultivating Discipleship Ministries in the Dominican Republic is to promote the Word of God as the ultimate authority in people's lives, while also addressing their spiritual, medical, and physical needs. Our mission is to mentor, disciple, and empower individuals with biblical teachings, enabling them to follow Jesus in all aspects of life. Through our services, we aim to identify and meet the healthcare needs of the community, schools, and churches where we operate, so that our ministers and churches are rooted in biblical principles and the community can witness the transformative power of Jesus.

Beyond Ministry
Toby's favorite place to be is his family's cabin that sits over a lake. His favorite thing to do in the Dominican Republic is to work on his garden. You can usually find him studying his Bible or researching various topics. Amy loves to read, give her dogs attention, and once a year go whale watching.
